1. Our Commitment to Safety

Safety is a core part of how Meet Positives operates. We take proactive steps to help prevent harmful behavior, address concerns, and respond to reports in a timely and responsible manner. Our approach combines technology, human review, and community participation.

We regularly review platform activity to help identify potential risks, misuse, or violations of our standards. These reviews may involve automated systems, reports from other members, or manual evaluation by our Trust & Safety team.

We encourage all members to:

  • Engage respectfully, fostering a stigma-free community.
  • Follow Community Guidelines for safe interactions.
  • Report violations via https://support.meetpositives.com or the 3-dot "Report Profile" feature.
  • Exercise caution online and at user-generated meetups, per the tips below.

Our goal is not only to respond to issues, but to reduce the likelihood of harm and promote positive, respectful interactions across the platform.

2. Shared Responsibility

Creating a safer environment is a shared effort between Meet Positives and its members. While we provide tools, policies, and oversight, each member plays an important role in maintaining a respectful community.

We encourage members to:

  • Communicate honestly and respectfully with others.
  • Be mindful when sharing personal or sensitive information.
  • Trust their instincts and pause if something feels uncomfortable.
  • Use available tools to report or block concerning behavior.

Taking your time, staying aware, and setting personal boundaries can help create a more positive experience for everyone.

3. Safety Tips for Online Interactions

  • Protect Personal Information: Avoid sharing addresses, financial details, or passwords.
  • Verify Identities: Prefer verified profiles (email or optional phone/photo verification).
  • Avoid Suspicious Links: Do not click links or download files from unknown users.
  • Use Platform Messaging: Keep conversations inside the app. Report hidden contact information via https://support.meetpositives.com or 3-dot "Report Profile."
  • Trust Your Instincts: If something feels off, report it immediately. There is no penalty for reporting in good faith.

4. Safety Tips for In-Person Meetings and Meetups

For in-person meetings or user-generated meetups (notified based on conditions like STD status):

  • Meet in Public: Choose well-lit, public venues (e.g., cafes, community centers), especially for a first meeting.
  • Inform a Friend: Share your meeting plans, location, and expected return time with a trusted contact.
  • Verify Identities: Use external resources such as https://www.nsopw.gov when warranted.
  • Stay Alert: Avoid substances that impair your judgment or awareness.
  • Arrange Transportation: Do not rely on a new contact for travel to or from a meeting. Ensure independent travel.
  • Follow Laws: Adhere to all applicable local regulations at meetups.
  • Manage Notifications: Consent to condition-based meetup notifications via account settings. Report unsafe meetup behavior via https://support.meetpositives.com or 3-dot "Report Profile."

We are not liable for interaction-related disputes, per Terms of Service (Section 7).

5. Reporting Violations

Report violations via:

  • In-App Reporting: Click the 3 dots in a profile's hero section, select "Report Profile," and choose:
    • Hidden contact information
    • Inappropriate content or messages
    • Fraudulent intentions or scams
    • Minor or underage
    • Harassment
    • Racism
    • Hate speech or bullying
    • Threats of violence
    • Physical violence
    • Unsafe meetup behavior

  • Email: [email protected]

Reports are reviewed within 5 business days.

6. Reviews, Reports, and Restrictions

In some situations, profiles or features may be temporarily limited while an account is reviewed. These reviews help us address potential safety concerns, investigate reports, or verify activity on the platform.

A review or restriction does not always mean a member has done something wrong. Many reviews are precautionary and intended to protect all users while we assess a situation.

We aim to handle reviews fairly, consistently, and with respect for user privacy.

7. Transparency About Profiles

  • No Background Checks: We do not verify criminal history. Exercise caution, per Terms of Service (Section 7).
  • Legacy Profiles: Some profiles may be outdated following our platform relaunch. Report stale or suspicious profiles via https://support.meetpositives.com or 3-dot "Report Profile."
  • Verification: Email verification is required within 7 days of signup. Unverified accounts may be restricted from full platform access.

8. Mental Health & Emotional Support

Dating, relationships, and personal health experiences can bring up strong emotions. If you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or distressed, reaching out for support can make a difference.

If you are outside the United States, we encourage you to look for local crisis hotlines or mental health organizations in your country.

Access to accurate information is an important part of personal well-being.

  • Consult licensed healthcare professionals for medical questions or concerns.
  • Seek reputable public health organizations for educational resources.
  • Use caution when relying on information shared by other users.

Your safety is more important than continuing any conversation. For platform-specific guidance, see our Reporting & Blocking page.
